Google Places, absolutely critical

Last week I posted on Pinterest yet again, but I wanted to make sure you all understood that this was not the only game in town. There are so many networks out there and since it was created by the grand-daddy, Google+ is not going anywhere and Google Places is absolutely critical to small businesses looking to get found online.

If you haven’t confirmed your listing or didn’t think it was worth your time, let me lay it out for you. If you have a restaurant, hair or nail salon, individual retail store or any other business that relies on foot traffic, the way people find you has changed.  No longer are they walking down the street and happening on your location. People are targeting their errands, they are busy and they don’t have time to “experiment” with a new place. So they are asking their friends, and getting recommendations online. They are using their smart phones to see what businesses are nearby and they are looking at reviews for pizza, hair stylists and masseurs before they make a decision to buy. If you have not updated your listing and don’t have any reviews they are not coming to visit you. Period.

Take a little time out of your day to watch this week’s webinar and learn how Google Places can drive business to your door. As always, call me with any questions!
